Mona + Jawaad | Wedding

Mona is one of Mahroo’s good friends and a long time dedicated S2S fans. She’s been one of our earliest supporters, so when she told us she was getting married and wanted us to shoot the wedding, Mahroo and I were beyond excited. Her wedding was a two day mehndi and shadi combo. The mehndi was at the RTP Sheraton and the shadi was at the Durham Marriot – one of our favorite reception locations.

Here are a few of our favorite moments and portraits:

[ After the entrances, the Mehndi consisted of a few ceremonial rituals - feeding of the sweets and donning of the bridal flowers. After this, the men were asked to exit as the rest of the program was privately for women only. This night was my favorite from the weekend as it was one of the more challenging events I've had to shoot in a while - the whole place was pretty much candle lit for atmosphere and required a lot more effort in focusing and exposing. ]

[ The next morning, there was a small religious ceremony at the mosque where family and friends gathered to witness the verbal and written agreement of the marriage. ]

[ The shadi took place later in the evening. It had been raining this weekend and the weather really picked up right before the reception. Luckily, the rain stopped for a little bit and we were able to capture a few frames outside before it started again. There were some great moments at this event... ]

Hira - MashaAllah these photos are absolutely gorgeous! All the photos turned out so well, but my favorite is the one of the both of them standing outside the hotel. And the nikkah shots of the sisters are beautiful!

Shanshan + Fakhar | Wedding [Charlotte]

Mahroo and I went down to Charlotte to cover Shanshan and Fakhar’s beautiful wedding at the Renaissance Hotel. After spending a few weeks traveling for work, covering a chill single day wedding was a welcomed thought. They make a wonderful couple and while we were with them for only a few hours, they graciously treated us like family and everyone had a great time.

Saima + Khurram | Wedding [Miami]

Just got back from covering Saima and Khurram’s amazing three day wedding in Miami. Such a great couple – both are absolute sweethearts and completely in love with each other. Their families are also SO loving and caring; it was a true pleasure working with everyone.

Had a lot of fun with these guys – check it out:

[ The first night, there was a high energy Mehndi celebration. Both families had a dance-off competition against each other and Saima's friends, the Miami Masala, made a special appearance - for a makeshift group of dancers, they're actually pretty good =P ]

[ The second day, there was an intimate dinner at Saima's house where they conducted the official religious ceremony. The sheikh first went to Saima's room and asked her - in front of her witnesses - if she would take Khurram as her husband. After she said yes, the sheikh and witnesses went down to the living room to witness Khurram's acceptance. Once that was complete, Saima walked down to be with him. ]

[ The last day was the actual wedding reception - the Shadi. We had an intimate first look before the reception and then half-way through the shadi, Khurram changed out of the traditional shervani and entered again to say a few words and have the first dance. Also, Khurram rolled up in a Gallardo and bounced in a SL55 AMG - the dude specializes in making baller entrances and exits. ]
